A bit of EJC: You know you made my eyes burn

First and foremost I would like to say thank you a bunches and HI to all my new followers!
It means so much to me, you have noo idea. Can't wait to read all your comments and posts back, this blog has become a big part of my life and I love sharing it with all of you!

Now for today - I spent my usual "day off" Friday and decided to take advantage of it to the fullest.
I went to Ms. Lala Sarkisian's beautiful abode, poured a yummy glass of Moscato, and got straight to work.
Last time we collaborated it was entirely my idea and inspiration so for today it was all Lala's brilliancy...if that's a word.
She wanted to channel the Pin-Up style of the 50's.
We created two looks with totally different vibes and I loved every bit of it.
This one is more mainstream with a modern twist.
Reminds me of Lana Del Rey with her amazingly thick eyebrows and nude lips.
I can not stop listening to her so it is perfect for my overall mood.

Blue jeans, White shirt
Walked into the room you know you made my eyes burn
It was like James Dean, for sure
You so fresh to death & sick as ca-cancer
Enjoy the images and tunes.

Have a safe and happy weekend!

A bit of EJC: All you need is love

Inspired by the film Across the Universe I dug through bags of old clothes and pulled out one of my old favorites. A classic baseball Beatles tee, my first purchase from Urban Outfitters when I was about 13 or 14.
I cut off the sleeves, fringed the bottom, and it's back to being my favorite tee again.
I can't believe it was on its way to Goodwill!
For those of you who have never seen Across the Universe I HIGHLY recommend it.
Set in America in the late 1960's early 1970's, the movie follows a handful of artists spreading peace and love through classic Beatles tunes.
The above clip stole my heart.

Nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you in time.
It's easy.

All you need is love.

Inspiration Days: One bloggers trash is another bloggers treasure

The second my too-big-for-my-tiny-head ears hear the words "blogger" and "market" my heart smiles and begins to flutter. Kind of like joke.
When I heard Jules of Sincerely, Jules was putting together a shindig of this nature I made it a point to be there with enough dough to do some major damage.
Not only did I meet some of my blogger obsessions, Jules, Shea, and Jennifer but I got to shop their closets and ended up snagging a vintage clutch, a faux fur vest, and a Jenni Kayne neon mini.
It felt so amazing to be surrounded by such powerful, beautiful dreams didn't seem too far off..if only for a day.
The rest of my rainy day was spent with Elv...stuffing our faces with deliciousness, cozying up, and being lazy.

An amazing work week to everyone!

The Classics: I got blue feet

It was love at first sight...when I purchased my very first pair of blue shoes from Bershka in Madrid, Spain last year.
I remember that day so vividly...exploring Madrid with the two Jenna's and Emily, shopping, being carefree, with nothing on my mind but exploring the world.
I stumbled upon my blue suede shoes and literally squealed when I saw them
The entire day I went back and forth till I finally gave in.
My best investment you can see on my face.

Currently on repeat?
 Elton John's Tiny Dancer.
My favorite scene in Almost Famous is when the entire group croons the sweet lyrics symbolizing unity and love.

Inspiration Days: The power of serenity

Serenity, the state of being calm and tranquil.
Although I am not overly religious I really value and do my best to live by The Serenity Prayer.

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference."

From the lens: Current Elliot SS 2012

What immediately caught my eye was photo number 4. The bunny ears.
I loved everything about the image...from the ears, to the faint floral shorts, to the models demeanor.
I searched everywhere to find where this image came from (since the person who pinned it failed to attach the original link!)
But finally I found that it was from Current Elliots SS 2012 lookbook.
Current Elliot prides itself on authentic Americana denim that combines both vintage and modern designs.
The lookbook is crazy amazing as are the pieces.

Inspiration Days: Runway and Motha Nature

I can finally say I am on "Spring Break" the " " are placed because I'll be working sooo it's not much of a break for me.
On the bright side I decided to kick of the "break" with a fashion show.
I attended the Los Angeles Concept Fashion Show and viewed some installations by Curly V, and Belle N. Matisse to name a few, then sat down in a room full of fashion souls (I was extremely inspired) and watched the Jen Awad collection.
The pieces were stunning...floral chiffons, cut-out dresses, thigh high stockings, and amazingly crafted outerwear. I would wear every piece...multiple times.
I spent Sunday winding down with one too many Shocktops at Manhattan Beach...oops.

Have an AMAZING work week everyone!

A bit of EJC: fish scales and sunsets

It's a Bob Marley kind of day...
I've been listening to his classics all day on repeat.
Perfect jams for a perfect day filled with Cali sunsets and relaxation.
I'm really loving my fish scale tie-dye-ish top gifted from Sugarlips.
The colors are amaze and the airy-ness of it makes you feel as if you have nothing on...(not sure if that's entirely a good thing.)

Have an amazing weekend loves!

I wanna love you and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed...

A bit of EJC: I'll be here for awhile

I woke up this morning with my Facebook Newsfeed, my Twitter Stream and my Pintrest filled with everything Joseph Kony and the Invisible Children.
I immediately watched the clip and was so stunned and so moved.
I grabbed my laptop and started to write a stream of consciousness because my mind was going a mile a minute.
I came up with an amazing idea for this cause which I hope to complete in the next few weeks.
With the help of a few creative friends.

311's I'll be here for awhile has been blasting through my always puts me in a good mood and is so fitting for my spirit right now.

And if a person place or thing can deliver
I will quiver with delight
tempted by the hand that could
blind my vision and sight
but at twenty years of age
in frolic and in rage
I will see it through in time

I'll be here a while, ain't going nowhere...
Everything's going to be alright.

Inspiration Days: An Afternoon of Fashion

This weekend was a good, f-in weekend!
I decided to finally let loose, throw all my responsibilites on the back burner and head to Hollywood with some of my gf's.
Drinks, dancing, and some uber beats filled up my Saturday night...and Sunday morning...technically.
Sunday was another chill So-Cal day, sunshine in the upper 80's.
I couldn't help but roll down my window and feel the wind through my hair and the sun in my face.
I took my long time friend Sylvia with me to An Afternoon of Fashion hosted by blogger buddies Deniz of Le Fashion Monster and Sasha of LA Inspiration.
I loved that 98.7 blasted some Black Keys and Gotye while I shopped in little truck boutiques and munched on bomb food.
We then headed to her work party celebrating the success and progress of her boss Rob and his fight with cancer.
Wish you all the best Rob you are amazing!
