I don’t think this comes as surprise to anyone (sorry for SPAMMING you guys on my social channels!) but a week ago I said YES to spending the rest of my life with Emin. The feeling is surreal and I don’t think it has hit me yet – I’m engaged!
I guess you can say this is the beginning of not only a beautiful journey I will share with my best friend but also a wonderful experience I will share with all of you. I’ve been patiently waiting for a sign, something that points me in the right direction of where I want to go with this blog and my life. This moment was it.
Emin fills my days with laughter, love and adventures – why not share that continuously? I want to make this blog more than just a fashion blog. I want to make it about all the good things in life, family, travel, wedding planning (ahhh!) and more. 2016 looks like a very bright year and I can’t wait to share every single detail with you guys!
Now, onto the story! Let’s just say I had absolutely ZERO idea it was coming. Emin is a jokester and would give me the “I’m not ready – lets wait 2 – 5 year” run around. I didn’t necessarily think it would take him 5 years to propose but I definitely did not expect it so soon. I planned us a 5 day New York trip a few months ago, our first real couple trip EVER and that’s when the idea popped into his head that maybe NY was a great place to ask. I had always told him I wanted an intimate proposal, something just the two of us shared and he kept that in mind. We flew in on Thursday afternoon and looking back he was acting extremely odd but I thought it was his fear of flying. I checked into the Wyndam New Yorker (the best stay EVER – thank you guys for all your hard work!) and the lady at the front desk smiled sweetly and excused herself to give us a complimentary upgrade (hello red flag) I didn’t think much of it and we went up to the 38th floor to our suite. I opened the door and there were rose petals on the floor leading up to the room which was closed. I opened the second set of doors and in red rose petals it spelled out Will You Marry Me? on the bed.

I turned around and Emin was on one knee with my dream ring in his hand.
