About two months ago I received an intriguing email from two total strangers. The title read “Influencer Trip” and I knew I was in for an adventure. I went back and forth for a few weeks, trying to make the right decision. Do I say yes to a week long trip to Nicaragua, a place I know nothing about…with seven strangers? Am I crazy to say yes? Or completely insane to say no? I guess if you’re reading this you will know that I took that leap of faith, I jumped into this with my eyes closed and my heart open. It was one of the best decisions of my life that has left me feeling…for a lack of a better phrase a clusterfuck of emotions.

Now, you’re probably wondering what the trip was all about. Well, the superstars at Supercharge Agency took three super influencers Rachel, Sunita and myself to Nicaragua to create content for brands like ModCloth, Garnier and Bumble and Bumble.

We arrived on Wednesday and drove to the city of Granda, a colorful mecca filled with music and culture. We walked the restaurant lined street to dinner and enjoyed our first awkward meal, skeptical about what the next few days entailed. The following morning we got ready in ModCloth goodies and shot some lively looks amongst pink and yellow backdrops with authentic Nicaraguan pineapples as our props.

We hopped on the pick-up truck and drove to our second destination, Rancho Chilamate, possibly my favorite of them all. A horse farm with the loveliest staff and people I have ever met. We were greeted at the door with wine which we drank till the early morning. All of us in the pool sharing stories and getting to know one another, it was beautiful. The following day was by far the most thrilling, we road horses through the jungle down to the beach. I remember stopping for a moment on my horse Pegasus and looking around, surrounded by lush green hills. It was surreal.

Our third leg of the trip was to Maderas Village, a cool hipster-esq spot with tree houses to sleep in, literally. We ate fresh granola in the morning, gulped down amazing coffee and were so far off the grid it felt like we were not even on this planet. The team took the day to sail on a Catamaran while the girls spritzed some Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. Of course, I volunteered to jump off the boat into the ocean…if only for that epic drone shot.

We made a quick pit stop at the beach the following day, striped down to our bikinis and ran into the massive, crashing waves. Our bellies filled with the best fried shrimp and fries.

The last two days were relaxing, we drove to a mansion settled on top of a hill overlooking San Juan del Sur. Family style dinners and swimming in the infinity pool ended off the week.

To everyone who watched, liked, commented and DM’ed…thank you! Thanks for enjoying this experience with me, even if it was through a 4×4 square image. I hope this inspired you in some sort of way…to just say YES! Say yes to adventure and discovery and the unknown…or as Rachel would say…the unsure.

I love you guys and I’m so thankful for the new friends I made!
