With Fall and Winter in full swing I thought it was time to share five fashion essentials for the season! And let’s be honest here my obsession with Gilmore Girls may or may not have inspired this look. Rory Gilmore would be so incredibly proud!

While I’m not a Chilton student I found that a lot of the influences for F/W 2016 were “Prep School Chic”. So I set out on the internet to stock up on a few styles I felt were musts this season. I recently discovered Marks and Spencer London, an e-shop with an amazing selection of trendy and classic pieces. My head-to-toe look is from Marks and Spencer, I guess they like the Gilmore Girls just as much as I do…read on for my breakdown of what you need in your closet!

Five Winter Essentials

1. Classic Peacoat – You can never go wrong with a classic peacoat and it’s definitely one of my favorite coat styles this season. Always opt for traditional colors like navy and black! You’ll wear these for a lifetime.

2. Loafers – Loafers are everywhere right now and I am not mad about it! I really love the chunky heel with fringe but you can always go for flat versions to pair with denim and pants.

3. PJ inspired Blouse – Oh the comfort of PJs in a blouse version, it’s genius! Add a subtle print to your outfit with this style blouse and look effortlessly chic.

4. A-line Wool Skirt – Wool skirts are a staple in my closet and they should be in yours too! I love these high-waisted mini skirt styles in grey, cognac and black. So versatile and great alternatives to pants!

5. Fur Bag – There are only a few times a year where fur bags are acceptable and this is one of them. I particularly loved this bag from Marks and Spencer because of the beautiful color and the light touch of fur. Would also work great as an evening bag!

Hope this inspired you to get preppy and add some “It” items to your wardrobe!
