Oh. My. Goodness!…my new site is live. F I N A L L Y. I can hardly believe it! I have been working on this new launch since August of last year. There have been many endless nights, countless revisions, research on research on research, knit-picky details and all this wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Aleksandra at Adored Designs. From our initial chat about what I needed in my blog to her attention to detail, I seriously am in love with every inch of this space and I can’t wait to share more posts here with all of you!

I guess I should walk you through the new Stiletto Beats in hopes that you love it and keep coming back for more! First, the logo and the name. A few months ago I made the brave and scary decision to transition from @stilettobeatss on Instagram to @EmilyVartanian (you can catch more of that post here). With the name change I felt that my blog needed to stay stilettobeats.com but that the name and logo needed to include Emily Vartanian. Stiletto Beats by Emily Vartanian combines my old 09′ blog with who I am today. I love the use of font and the editorial vibe that sets the tone for the rest of the site.

Which leads me to the site design as a whole. I wanted an editorial feel that combined simplicity with femininity. Those were my three main aesthetic goals and I think we achieved that and more.

Fonts played a huge role in the design…combining the slanted script font with a simple font seen on my navigation bar to a more classic font with the body of my blog posts. The three elements really compliment each other but are still so distinctive.

I also wanted to include a sort of header image to each post…Aleksandra came up with this layer that looks like the PicStitch photos I used to do years ago! I love this detail. She also was the one to suggest a paintbrush effect which highlights some details like my Pinterest section, my Subscription box (which you should sign up for) and even my blog sign off…XO, EV!

Of all the pages I think my favorite is the About page. From the photo selection, to the fonts and the graphic details…it really encompasses everything I wanted with my blog and is so very ME.

Poke around, click around and leave your honest opinions below. A HUGE thank you to Aleksandra, if you guys are looking for a web designer she is your girl! I hope you return for more. Love you guys!
