For the Love of Vintage

There are times I wear outlandish things.
Things most people would never wear.
And these things are usually vintage pieces I have bought over the years.
I purchased this number from the Melrose Trading Post months ago
but never got around to wearing it till today.
When I buy vintage I look for a few key things.
Silhouette is number one I ask questions like - Is this a classic style? Can I make it look modern?
Color is number two. I never buy crazy colorful vintage items.
I stick to the basics - blacks, whites and neutrals,
that way I can pair them with more pieces already in my closet.
Lastly, I look at the condition but not just the typical no holes or stains condition.
I look at fabrication and construction.
You can easily tell if an item of clothing is made poorly or is not very good fabric.
With these in mind I almost always walk away with a piece that is different, well-made and timeless.
That is exactly all the components to this dress.
