I’m now 21 weeks and 2 days pregnant and Baby V is the size of a large banana according to my app, What to Expect! We are now on the other side of the half way point and my belly literally grew overnight. I simply woke up at the 20 week mark last weekend and Emin was like “WOAH look at the belly!”. I now understand what the question “have you popped yet means?”

With the bigger belly comes a lot of changes. As I said in my first trimester post, I had a fairly easy first trimester and felt great other than the occasional tiredness. My second trimester has actually been a bit harder on my body. I’ve gained steady weight (total of 14 lbs now) and am on the right track to gaining 25-30 lbs at the end of the pregnancy but I’ve felt a heaviness that I’ve never felt before in the last two weeks. My belly is definitely bigger than most and Baby V is measuring a week ahead! The heaviness in my midsection has caused a lot of back ache! I have Emin rub vapor rub on my lower back every night to release some of the pain. My feet are also starting to hurt, specifically my heels and I find that I can’t be standing on my feet for too long. At 21 weeks I can’t imagine what I’m going to be like in the third trimester!

My clothes are also starting to not fit, I mean forget about my jeans and pants but even my dresses and skirts from pre-pregnancy all the way up to 19 weeks are just not working anymore. I’m finding it harder to shop and wear non-maternity clothing! Other than that everything is going well and I feel pretty good in my pregnancy body, i’ll report back in a few weeks, likely it will change because I have been eating more than usual. Have I had any pregnancy cravings? I mean I love candy more than ever…but I do tend to want fake sushi rolls ALL THE TIME. Carbs are my best friend…pasta, noodles…give me all of it!

I felt Baby V kick for the first time around 18 weeks but have been feeling him A LOT more now. To me the feeling is similar to muscle spasms or bubbles popping inside. I can’t wait till Emin gets to feel him too! At our 20 week ultrasound we got a small glimpse of what he would look like and I think he is going to look like Emin!

We’re now beginning to feel the stress and pressure of getting everything done…from the nursery, to the classes and more. To help keep us on track I made a Pre-Delivery check list with all the important stuff for us to do! Below is a downloadable image for all my mamas-to-be. Some of the stuff may not be on your list or important to you so just ignore the ones that don’t pertain. I hope this helps relieve some of your stress!

Thank you guys for being so amazing! Lots of new posts coming soon including…my pregnancy must-have items, safe pregnancy products and more!
